SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - July 2011
Dear Orchestra:
Due to a large number of new mandatory fees at Queens University Al and the leadership team have elected to move the orchestra rehearsals to Charlotte Country Day School located at the corner of Carmel and Fairview roads near SouthPark. This is only a short distance from Queens, and we have plentiful FREE parking!
The address of CCDS is 1440 Carmel Rd, Charlotte, NC 28226 and we will be rehearsing in the new Hance Fine Arts building at the far end of the main entrance.
The orchestra will be renamed to Queen City Community Orchestra and we will be obtaining the internet (domain) names www.qcco.org and will retain the old www.queensorchestra.org also and will post initial updates here. The old FaceBook site will remain (search “queens orchestra”) until a new one is created.
Our schedule will remain the same, with our first rehearsal the first Monday after Labor Day: September 12 at 7:30pm at the Hance Fine Arts building with the concert location and dates to be announced.
As we have additional information, we will post it on the website and Facebook pages and will answer off of your questions at the first rehearsal.
Please help us get the word out and we look forward to seeing all of you back in the fall!

Q: Why the change?
A: Queens University was to begin charge parking PER MEMBER in addition to a per concert fee. Our small budget would not have allowed these fees.
Q: Are Queens University students allowed to attend?
A: Of course! However per their rules, Queens University will not provide credit hours for your attendance.
